Responsibilities

• Design assessment tasks rooted in sociological concepts.
• Create clear and measurable prompts suitable for use by third-party educators.
• Develop high-quality rubrics aligned precisely with each assessment task.
• Apply established pedagogical frameworks such as Bloom's taxonomy when developing assessments.
• Review educational materials for clarity, rigor, and authenticity.
• Provide detailed and actionable feedback on educational content.
• Synthesize relevant sociological literature and research.
• Use current academic research to inform task and rubric development.
• Maintain academic integrity and up-to-date content in assessment materials.
• Document the rationale and evaluation criteria for each assessment and rubric.
• Support transparency and transferability of assessment materials across educational contexts.
• Collaborate asynchronously with other domain experts and project stakeholders.
• Communicate clearly through written and verbal channels.
• Iteratively refine assessment materials based on peer feedback.
• Incorporate project stakeholder feedback into ongoing improvements.
• Contribute sociology expertise to AI training and evaluation.

Skills

Requirements

• PhD or ABD in Sociology or a closely related discipline.
• Active teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
• Active research or publication record at the postsecondary level.
• Demonstrated experience developing high-quality assessment tasks and rubrics.
• Deep knowledge of pedagogical principles.
• Knowledge of Bloom's taxonomy and other assessment frameworks.
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
• Ability to distill complex sociological theories into clear educational content.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback.
• Ability to review peer work objectively.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to clarity and academic rigor.
• Ability to collaborate asynchronously with domain experts and project stakeholders.
• No prior AI experience is required.
