Responsibilities

Requirements
- Advanced degree such as an MS or PhD in Physics, or equivalent experience, with a focus on AMO physics or optical properties of materials.
- Experience with ab initio quantum chemistry calculations, particularly configuration interaction approaches to polarizability.
- Deep understanding of atomic-structure computation techniques, especially those applied to Yb-171 and Yb-174.
- Strong ability to identify and explain sigma versus pi transitions in atomic contexts.
- Strong structured written and verbal scientific communication skills.
- Ability to participate approximately 5–10 or more hours per week.
