Responsibilities
- Listen to 30–90 second field recordings using quality headphones in a quiet workspace.
- Complete structured annotations identifying instruments, tempo, musical key, background events, and scene details.
- Add accurate timestamps for audible events such as traffic, sirens, applause, and other background sounds.
- Compare paired recordings of the same song captured at different locations and identify what remained consistent and what changed.
- Review AI-generated descriptions of audio clips in later project phases and determine which details are correct, incorrect, or invented.
- Provide brief, evidence-based written explanations when evaluating AI model responses.
- Complete a paid onboarding and calibration session.
- Participate in short weekly synchronization sessions and maintain annotation quality standards.

Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on professional or practical music or audio experience.
- Strong analytical listening skills with the ability to distinguish individual instruments in busy, noisy, real-world recordings.
- Ability to identify musical tempo within a few BPM.
- Ability to identify musical key, with relative pitch using a reference considered acceptable.
- Comfort performing detailed and repetitive annotation work using a structured web platform.
- Ability to work with dropdowns, timestamps, and short structured notes.
- Clear written English for concise, evidence-based annotation notes.
- Quality headphones and access to a quiet workspace.
- Reliable internet connection.
- Availability of approximately 20–25 hours per week during the engagement window.
