Responsibilities
- Research the data requirements of frontier robotics, world models, and physical AI systems.
- Design datasets and data collection methods spanning egocentric video, teleoperation, UMI, robot trajectories, sensors, and simulation.
- Define data schemas, annotations, ground truth, and evaluation frameworks for robotics applications.
- Develop data specifications for manipulation, navigation, spatial reasoning, and physical understanding tasks.
- Run experiments to determine which data types, structures, and evaluation methods most effectively improve model performance.
- Collaborate with leading AI and robotics laboratories to translate research requirements into scalable data pipelines and products.
- Design scalable approaches for collecting, structuring, and validating multimodal robotics data.
- Contribute to the development of datasets supporting robot learning, perception, and embodied intelligence.
- Stay current with frontier robotics and embodied AI research and use emerging insights to shape robotics data strategy.
- Communicate research findings, dataset requirements, and technical recommendations clearly across cross-functional teams.

Requirements
- 2–5+ years of professional or research experience in robotics, computer vision, multimodal learning, embodied AI, applied machine learning, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of robotics, physical AI, robot perception, and multimodal data.
- Ability to translate open-ended research challenges into concrete datasets, experiments, schemas, and technical specifications.
- Experience designing or evaluating structured data for machine learning or robotics applications.
- Strong technical communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across research, engineering, and product teams.
- Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with embodied AI datasets, imitation learning, teleoperation, or robot learning pipelines is advantageous.
- Experience working with multimodal robotics datasets involving video, sensors, trajectories, or simulation is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with robotics hardware, sensor integration, or rapid prototyping is a plus.
- Familiarity with data collection and evaluation for manipulation, navigation, spatial reasoning, or world models is advantageous.
