Equity Research Expert
micro1 is engaging Equity Research Experts for a customer project focused on advanced financial analysis, modeling, and sector insights. Contributors will apply deep equity research expertise to evaluate datasets, analyze earnings, revise estimates, benchmark peers, assess company models, develop investment theses, and produce concise research summaries and event-driven updates. The work will help train next-generation AI systems to reason accurately across real-world fundamental equity research workflows. No prior AI experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Review, assess, and contribute to datasets modeling real-world equity research analysis while ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Analyze company earnings reports and financial results for AI training and evaluation purposes.
- Perform estimate revisions and synthesize peer benchmarking insights.
- Evaluate detailed company financial models covering revenue, margins, cash flow, valuation, and other key financial drivers.
- Produce detailed written evaluations explaining the strengths, weaknesses, assumptions, and drivers within company models.
- Prepare high-quality and concise research summaries and event-driven updates based on deep sector expertise.
- Develop and clearly articulate investment theses by connecting qualitative business factors with quantitative financial analysis.
- Identify important industry trends, sector-specific metrics, company catalysts, and other factors relevant to fundamental equity analysis.
- Connect underlying business drivers to financial outcomes and valuation implications.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to provide feedback on data quality and improve equity research-related training content.

Requirements
- Extensive experience as a sell-side Research Associate with direct ownership of company models and written research, or experience as a publishing or lead Research Analyst such as a VP or Director.
- Track record of independently covering multiple companies through several earnings cycles.
- Experience maintaining comprehensive company financial models.
- Proven ability to connect underlying business drivers to financial performance and valuation outcomes.
- Demonstrated deep expertise in at least one equity research sector, such as banking, insurance, biotechnology, or another specialized industry.
- Strong experience performing granular earnings analysis and estimate revisions.
- Direct experience with peer benchmarking, valuation analysis, and event-driven research updates.
- Experience formulating, articulating, and defending investment theses and research views.
- Ability to take accountability for the accuracy and quality of financial research and analysis.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and data interpretation skills.
- No prior professional AI experience is required.
