CFD Engineer
micro1 is engaging CFD Engineers to contribute to a project focused on advancing AI capabilities in engineering simulation. Contributors will solve and evaluate complex computational fluid dynamics problems, assess AI-generated technical responses, and apply practical engineering judgment across mesh generation, turbulence modeling, multiphase flow, heat transfer, solver configuration, and verification and validation. No prior experience in AI is required.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and solve advanced CFD challenges involving mesh generation, turbulence modeling, multiphase flow, heat transfer, and solver configuration.
- Review and assess AI-generated technical responses for correctness, accuracy, and engineering integrity.
- Apply practical engineering judgment to simulation scenarios and theoretical fluid-dynamics questions.
- Analyze and troubleshoot CFD problems using mesh independence, turbulence model selection, boundary-condition specification, and convergence analysis best practices.
- Contribute domain expertise to improve AI reasoning capabilities in computational fluid dynamics.
- Document feedback and provide clear written and verbal explanations that enhance AI learning and performance.
- Collaborate remotely with a distributed network of technical experts and project participants.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field focused on fluid dynamics or thermofluids, or equivalent practical CFD experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience conducting and validating CFD simulations is preferred.
- Experience with mesh generation, solver setup, turbulence modeling, multiphase or heat-transfer analysis, or CFD post-processing.
- Deep understanding of Navier-Stokes equations, turbulence modeling including RANS, LES, and DES, meshing strategies, boundary conditions, and verification and validation practices.
- Ability to analyze and validate fluid-flow, heat-transfer, and multiphysics problems using experimental or analytical data where appropriate.
- Familiarity with relevant practices and standards such as ASME V&V 20, AIAA CFD verification and validation, or ITTC procedures is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience with CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, COMSOL, or Converge is a strong plus.
- No prior experience in AI is required.
