CAD Data Generation & Validation Specialist (FreeCAD)
micro1 is engaging CAD Data Generation & Validation Specialists (FreeCAD) to contribute to a customer project focused on AI model training. Specialists will create, edit, and validate precise parametric CAD models, develop diverse mechanical parts and assemblies for AI datasets, apply GD&T and engineering best practices, perform CAD quality assurance, and document reproducible modeling workflows. The role also offers opportunities to use Python scripting for CAD automation and advanced parametrization.

Responsibilities
- Produce precise parametric CAD models using FreeCAD while following engineering and geometric best practices.
- Edit and refine existing CAD models according to project specifications and technical feedback.
- Validate CAD models for geometric accuracy, consistency, and engineering quality.
- Develop a diverse library of mechanical parts, assemblies, and features for AI dataset creation and model training.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure CAD models reflect real-world mechanical design and manufacturing standards.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of CAD data and identify discrepancies or modeling issues.
- Resolve identified CAD issues while maintaining accurate engineering documentation.
- Implement revisions efficiently as project requirements and technical specifications evolve.
- Use Python scripting where appropriate to automate CAD modeling tasks and improve parametrization.
- Develop reproducible modeling workflows that support efficient and consistent dataset generation.
- Document modeling decisions, workflows, revisions, and validation results for transparency and reproducibility.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD software.
- Demonstrated expertise in parametric modeling and mechanical design.
- Strong understanding of engineering modeling best practices and geometric accuracy.
- Experience validating CAD models for technical accuracy and manufacturing relevance.
- Practical knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Understanding of common manufacturing processes and industrial engineering principles.
- Ability to create and work with mechanical parts, assemblies, and parametric features.
- Strong quality assurance skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to identify, document, and resolve discrepancies in CAD data.
- Experience preparing comprehensive engineering and technical documentation.
- Ability to clearly document modeling workflows and engineering decisions.
- Python scripting experience for CAD automation or parametrization is advantageous.
