micro1 is engaging Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialists to contribute expertise to a high-impact customer project focused on advanced parametric CAD modeling and AI training. Specialists will develop, edit, and audit complex mechanical parts and assemblies, apply manufacturing and GD&T principles, and document design decisions. Strong experience with Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar parametric CAD platforms is transferable to FreeCAD, which is the primary software used for this project.

Responsibilities
- Develop fully parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies based on detailed written briefs.
- Create robust sketches, constraints, dimensions, and feature trees that preserve design intent.
- Edit and update existing parametric CAD models as requirements evolve.
- Ensure mechanical designs remain manufacturable and compliant with project specifications.
- Audit CAD models for dimensional accuracy, tolerance application, design intent, and technical consistency.
- Identify and document gaps, deviations, or modeling issues discovered during CAD reviews.
- Apply manufacturing knowledge across injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, casting, and forging.
- Optimize mechanical designs using Design for Manufacturability principles.
- Deliver consistent, high-quality CAD data to support AI model training and evaluation.
- Document design decisions, technical reasoning, and model modifications clearly.
- Communicate design rationale and technical feedback effectively with project stakeholders.

Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with parametric 3D CAD modeling.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, FreeCAD, or comparable parametric CAD software.
- Prior FreeCAD experience is preferred, though transferable parametric CAD expertise is acceptable.
- Proven application of GD&T principles, including ASME Y14.5 or equivalent standards.
- Demonstrated Design for Manufacturability expertise across at least two to three relevant manufacturing processes.
- At least 4 years of applied CAD experience for model editing assignments.
- Approximately 10+ years of experience may be required for complex model creation assignments.
- Experience creating and managing assembly-level models in addition to individual mechanical parts.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, casting, or forging.
- Experience with reverse engineering workflows such as scan-to-CAD or point cloud conversion is highly valued.
- Familiarity with CAD automation using Python, iLogic, NX Open, VBA, or similar technologies is a strong advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
