Responsibilities
- Review adolescent case materials and produce structured written risk assessments for suicide and self-harm presentations.
- Apply validated assessment tools such as the C-SSRS alongside expert clinical risk formulation to develop clear and actionable guidance.
- Differentiate between self-harm, suicidal ideation, suicidal intent, and acute risk with appropriate clinical precision.
- Recommend appropriate response protocols, including escalation pathways and evidence-based safety planning approaches.
- Assess contextual, safeguarding, psychiatric, and comorbidity factors that may influence overall risk.
- Document risk formulations and recommendations in clear, research-grade English suitable for non-specialist users.
- Benchmark clinical judgments against established guidelines and peer assessments to support consistency and reliability.

Requirements
- 3–5+ years of post-qualification experience involving direct adolescent clinical contact focused on suicide or self-harm risk.
- Specialist credentials in child and adolescent psychiatry or psychology with demonstrated expertise in suicide and self-harm assessment or intervention.
- Active clinical license or professional registration in good standing.
- Active or recent adolescent caseload experience within the past two years.
- Advanced proficiency with suicide and self-harm risk assessment tools such as the C-SSRS.
- Strong ability to distinguish ideation, intent, self-harm behavior, and levels of clinical acuity.
- Familiarity with evidence-based adolescent interventions such as DBT-A and trauma-informed care approaches.
- Strong clinical judgment regarding escalation, safeguarding, and safety planning.
- Exceptional written English at native or equivalent research-grade proficiency.
- DBT-A or CBT training is preferred.
- Crisis, emergency, or inpatient adolescent mental health experience is advantageous.
- Experience contributing to suicidology research or clinical guidelines is desirable.
