Responsibilities

  • Develop structured prompts, input artifacts, and golden responses for DoD staff writing tasks such as WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries, and performance reports.
  • Create grading guidelines to evaluate and score AI-generated outputs against DoD standards for accuracy, tone, and compliance.
  • Produce authentic report artifacts reflecting the style, structure, and language used in real-world DoD documentation.
  • Contribute to the design and review of test materials evaluating AI capabilities in federal summarizing and reporting tasks.
  • Participate in feedback cycles to refine prompts, responses, and grading rubrics based on project requirements and model performance.
  • Simulate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting formats used by federal organizations using relevant back-office and communication experience.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience as a federal contributor for the U.S. Department of Defense.
  • Experience producing Weekly Activity Reports, Situation Reports, executive summaries, and similar standardized reporting artifacts.
  • Background in one of the six branches of the U.S. military, with diverse experience across roles and units preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and audience-appropriate language.
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint briefings, memoranda, Excel summaries, and related federal documentation processes.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating AI-generated staff writing outputs and providing constructive feedback.
  • U.S.-based with an understanding of federal compliance, reporting requirements, DoD terminology, and workflows.
