Military Operations & Reporting SME

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate military and DoD reporting content for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with real-world procedures.
• Apply firsthand experience gathering information from multiple teams or staff sections and converting it into reports and executive updates for senior leadership.
• Provide high-quality written feedback on AI-generated reporting materials.
• Assess AI outputs for appropriate military terminology, reporting standards, and information synthesis.
• Develop and refine realistic military reporting examples and scenarios for AI training.

Skills

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience within the U.S. Department of Defense as a uniformed service member, DoD civilian, or both.
• Experience preparing recurring reports or executive updates for senior military or DoD leadership.
• Experience with reports such as Weekly Activity Reports, Project/Program Status Reports, Performance/Accomplishment Reports, After-Action Reports, or Budget Execution Reports.
• Background in military operations, plans, headquarters/command staff, program management, executive support, or resource management.
• Strong written communication skills and experience synthesizing inputs from multiple teams into clear and concise reporting.
• Experience as an Operations Officer/NCO, Plans Officer, Action Officer, Staff Officer, Executive Officer, or similar headquarters role is a plus.
