Responsibilities
- Create and interpret professional engineering drawings, ensuring all relevant details are clearly conveyed for manufacturing.
- Translate complex design requirements into accurate, precise, and manufacturable CAD specifications.
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D models using industry-standard CAD tools including SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Inventor, Creo, and NX, with FreeCAD used for reference models.
- Apply advanced tolerancing, dimensioning, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to engineering deliverables.
- Document and communicate manufacturing processes and design intent through clear written and verbal communication.
- Review, critique, and improve existing engineering documentation to enhance clarity and manufacturability.
- Provide design-for-manufacturing (DFM) insights and optimize parts for real-world production scenarios.

Requirements
- Extensive industry experience in mechanical design, including successfully transitioning parts from concept through manufacturing.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software with demonstrated capability across multiple platforms such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Inventor, Creo, and NX.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of FreeCAD for interpreting or referencing models.
- Strong command of drafting standards, GD&T, tolerancing, and technical documentation suitable for manufacturing.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, material selection, and design-for-manufacturing best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document decisions and explain engineering concepts clearly.
- Experience collaborating remotely on engineering projects and providing constructive, professional feedback.
